You may sponsor a wreath in honor of a loved one. Wreaths will be placed on the grave markers at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on December 18, 2021 and will remain on the markers through January 20, 2022.

16 Years . . . And Counting!

Saddle Creek Logistics Services and its associates have proudly supported Wreaths Across America for the past 16 years.

In the summer of 2006, a local group of U.S. Military Veterans came across the Wreaths Across America website. It did not take long for the three men to realize that the Florida National Cemetery, located in Bushnell, FL had not been “sponsored” (enrolled) to receive wreaths. So with pride, honor, and ambition, the U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club (USMVMC) led by the late Jack “Breakdown” Sellers, USMVMC President and a longtime driver with Saddle Creek Transportation, Inc., Saddle Creek associates and others rolled up their sleeves and got to work…determined to honor their fallen Brothers and Sisters in December 2006. That first year was small – 40 people stood in the pouring rain and watched in silence as the USMVMC conducted Bushnell’s first Remembrance Wreath Laying Ceremony. With honor and dignity we placed 7 Ceremonial Wreaths (one for each branch of the military as well as the POW/MIAs).

In 2007, with the help of the Civil Air Patrol and a few other groups, we placed 88 holiday wreaths on the graves. Each year we have gotten bigger and better. Last year, in 2020, the Bushnell ceremony had to change the process and program due to Covid but was still able to hand out wreaths. The setup was to pass out a number of wreaths per vehicle and wreaths were placed throughout the cemetery. The event was attended by approximately 4,000 volunteers who assisted in laying over 25,000 wreaths.

Did you know there are approximately 120,000 gravesites at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL? 108,000 of those are for Veterans. It is our sincere hope to one day be able to honor every fallen hero who has been laid to rest at Bushnell by being able to adorn each and every grave with a Remembrance Wreath during the annual WAA ceremony. We can make “one day” happen today with your support.
