Sofia Yeako

Office Manager

“The tuition reimbursement program is awesome! It’s helping me to earn my college degree without taking out major student loans. I would not have had this opportunity if not for Saddle Creek.”

Sofia Yeako left a job waitressing to join Saddle Creek Logistics Services as a temporary associate in December 2013. She has been steadily progressing in her career ever since.

In April 2014, Sofia joined the company permanently as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) in Lakeland, Fla. She had four years’ experience as a clerical biller with another logistics company. Within two years, she was running two accounts on her own and earned her first promotion to Office Lead, overseeing a team of 10 hourly CSRs.

Since then, she has continued to take on more responsibility and been promoted multiple times. Today, she is Office Manager, supporting the company’s headquarter campus. In this role, she performs annual client audit assessments, ensures that Lean tools are being used, assists with new client on-boarding, serves as the primary contact for United Way and Wreaths Across America, and more.

The company provided the training Sofia needed to progress in her career. In 2019, she attended Saddle Creek Academy, a week-long training program for front-line supervisors, and earned her Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.

“Everything I know I’ve learned from Saddle Creek,” she says. “There is a good system in place and people to reach out to for support. I’ve had excellent mentors and trainers, and everyone is willing to help out.”

In 2017, Sofia took advantage of Saddle Creek’s tuition reimbursement program and enrolled in nearby Polk State College. The company reimburses her for all her textbooks and 80 percent of the cost of classes for which she receives a grade of B or higher. She is working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management.

“The tuition reimbursement program is awesome! It’s helping me to earn my college degree without taking out major student loans,” she says. “I would not have had this opportunity if not for Saddle Creek.”

Sofia speaks highly of the company to everyone she meets. In fact, her husband is one of her recruits. He joined the company in August 2019 at her urging.

While there are many reasons that she enjoys working at Saddle Creek, Sofia says the company’s leadership team tops the list.

“I can’t say enough good things about the leadership here. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help. They are all so kind,” she says.

As a new mother, she was particularly impressed by the care that executives, supervisors and team members showed during her pregnancy and upon her return to work after maternity leave.

“I always tell people this is my ‘forever company,’” she says. “I’m young, so they laugh when I say I’ll retire here, but I know I will.”

Saddle Creek is a stable, fast-growing logistics company where you can safely perform essential services while building your skills and making a difference in your community. If you’re looking for an opportunity to play a meaningful role with a vital services provider, earn competitive pay and benefits, and be part of a family-oriented company, Saddle Creek is the place for you.
