When Rhommy Nkinituma moved to the United States from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2005, he joined Saddle Creek Logistics Services. He has never looked back.

Over the past 15 years, Rhommy has taken advantage of a variety of professional opportunities and developed new skills that have helped him to build a fulfilling career with the company.

After working as an order puller in the Harrisburg, N.C. warehouse for a year, he was promoted to a Lead position. While working, Rhommy took advantage of Saddle Creek’s Education Opportunity Program which provides tuition assistance for associates interested in earning specialized certifications, industry-specific training, undergraduate or graduate-level degrees.

“I earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Operations Management,” he explains. “Saddle Creek not only paid for my studies, but they also supported and worked with me throughout the process.”

After completing his degree in 2010, Rhommy relocated to Atlanta and was promoted to Warehouse Supervisor for a bakery account. A few years later, after expressing interest in learning the transportation side of the business, he became a Transportation Supervisor. In 2020, he was promoted to Transportation Manager and now leads a team of two Supervisors, two Logistics Coordinators and 45 Drivers operating 38 tractors and 94 trailers.

“I’ve worn many hats during my tenure on the bakery account,” Rhommy says. “Saddle Creek has given me a lot of opportunities that I couldn’t have imagined when I started. I am very thankful!”

He credits his success at Saddle Creek to the way the company treats employees.

“They always support you in achieving your professional goals,” he says. “All you need to do is reach for the position you’re interested in and put forth the effort required to qualify. Saddle Creek will value your commitment, and your efforts will pay off.”

Rhommy appreciates Saddle Creek’s culture and has never considered working anywhere else.

“I love working here. We treat each other with dignity and respect, regardless of position,” he says. “I am looking forward to many years of service at Saddle Creek. I plan to retire here.”
