Greg McNeely

Greg McNeely was a logistics industry veteran when he joined Saddle Creek Logistics Services in March 2016. He had been laid off after 18 years as a Logistics Manager for a power equipment company.

“Saddle Creek had a good reputation,” he says. “I figured it would be a good place to work, and I was right.”

Greg started as a temporary associate, working as a Line Lead in Charlotte, N.C. He then moved to order pulling and quickly became a Residual Lead. He was hired as a permanent Warehouse Lead that November.

“Saddle Creek is good for advancement. There’s opportunity to move up,” he says. “They‘re good about putting procedures in place so you know what to do to reach your goals, and they’re always looking to help you to reach them. They notice the people who work hard.”

Since Greg joined Saddle Creek, his team has exceeded their goals many times, setting records for production. He has had the opportunity to work in a variety of functions to support two high-profile beauty accounts and also volunteered to serve on the Safety committee.

“I really enjoy working here. The work environment here is very good – clean, organized, safe. I like the people I work for, and there’s a lot collaboration and teamwork,” he explains. “Saddle Creek does whatever it takes to make the customer happy – and the associates too. They really care about employees.”

Greg especially appreciates the company’s commitment to continual improvement.

“They invest in hearing from associates, and they want our opinions about ways to improve. We have daily meetings, monthly meetings, safety meetings and focus groups, so things can change for the better for everybody.”

Greg’s long-range career goals include Saddle Creek.

“I plan on retiring here,” he says. “I feel like I’m part of this company, and I want to finish my work life here.”
