Erik Hernandez

Erik Hernandez joined Saddle Creek Logistics Services as a temporary worker while he was still pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree at California State University in Los Angeles. After experiencing the warehouse environment, he decided to change his major to Business Administration with a focus in Management.

Today, Erik is a Warehouse Supervisor, responsible for multiple accounts in Buena Park, Calif.

“After graduating in 2016, I chose to return to Saddle Creek because of the positive experience I had while working here as a temporary associate,” he remembers. “During that time, I saw many possibilities for growth within the company, and that’s exactly what I wanted for my career.”

Since being hired permanently, Erik has had new challenges and opportunities to learn new skills.

“Challenges are the reason we learn and grow. I enjoy learning not only from my managers but also from every associate,” Erik says. “I usually spend my day on the floor, making sure operations are running smoothly, motivating and encouraging our associates, and solving issues as quickly as possible to avoid delays.”

When asked why he comes to work every day, he says, “I know I contribute to the business, and I feel valued and appreciated at Saddle Creek. My managers have always pushed me to learn more and kept me on my toes. And my team makes me feel this is home. It has been a great career journey.”

Erik plans to keep evolving with Saddle Creek and paying it forward by helping other associates grow along the way.
