For most college students or recent graduates, completing a relevant internship or trainee program can open many future professional doors. Daniel Bondi, a junior majoring in Supply Chain Management at Auburn University, Ala., recently had the opportunity to experience a fast-growing logistics operation at Saddle Creek Logistics Services in Atlanta, Ga.

Daniel joined the company for a three-month internship program in the summer of 2018. He had several options to choose from, and, after careful consideration, he selected Saddle Creek. “I met with recruiters from many companies at a university career fair, and what stood out to me about Saddle Creek was the emphasis they placed on culture. I saw that people wanted me succeed – and that I would be able to help others succeed,” Daniel says.

For Daniel, the best part about being a Saddle Creek intern was that he was able to gain great insight into the day-to-day operation and really see what teamwork looks like.

“I had a general understanding of what the company did, but the daily operating activities were a lot more complex than I imagined,” he explains. “Most of all, I learned that each role in the company – from janitor to general manager – is important for the business, and no role should be considered too big or too small to make an impact.”

When asked about his advice to other supply chain students, Daniel says, “If you are a person who works hard, wants to learn from experienced professionals, and is compassionate and willing to try new things, I would highly recommend that you join Saddle Creek.”
