Sr. Manager, Fulfillment
“The teams work together as a family. I know that I can call associates on any campus at any time to ask for assistance or advice, and everyone is always willing to help. The cooperative environment sets Saddle Creek apart from other companies.”Austin Feagins
When Austin Feagins joined Saddle Creek Logistics Services, he jumped in with both feet. In just a few years, he has worked in different roles, experienced multiple operations and made significant contributions to the company.
Austin graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2015 with a degree in Supply Chain Management and Economics. He was looking for an opportunity to experience integrated supply chain operations when he heard about the Management Trainee Program (MTP).
“When I was researching companies I would like to work for, I talked to my professional connections, business owners, supply chain leaders and professors. They told me that Saddle Creek focuses heavily on internal development and professional growth,” Austin explains. “At that time, Saddle Creek’s Management Trainee Program sparked my interest. The program is a fantastic opportunity to learn about warehousing, transportation, people and financial management.”
Austin joined the MTP in Charlotte, N.C., as a Fulfillment Operations Trainee. His first challenge was to work with ipsy, a fast-growing beauty subscription company and Saddle Creek client since 2012.
“The fulfillment industry is incredibly fast-paced and requires detail-oriented work. It is arguably the future for many supply chain companies,” Austin explains. “This experience led me to an understanding of inventory management and order fulfillment, but, more importantly, it allowed me to immerse myself in the world of fulfillment companies and third-party providers.”
Today, Austin is a Senior Manager of Fulfillment. His daily responsibilities consist of planning the operations and managing his team to reach goals and deliver excellent service. Austin explains, “Working with a large fulfillment customer that is constantly growing creates many last-minute changes. There is never a dull day with a fulfillment account and that excites me.”
When asked what he likes best about working at Saddle Creek, Austin says, “The teams work together as a family. I know that I can call associates on any campus at any time to ask for assistance or advice, and everyone is always willing to help. The cooperative environment sets Saddle Creek apart from other companies.”Saddle Creek is a growing logistics company where you can experience a dynamic environment, increase your skills and advance your career.
