Angele Dean

When Angele Dean and her husband moved to Lakeland, Fla., in 2006, they planned to stay in the area for about two years before taking the next step in their careers. Back then, Angele had just finished her master’s degree in information technology management at Florida State University. She was looking for a job opportunity where she could learn and grow. She never imagined she would find everything she wanted in her very first job after graduation.

Nearly 14 years later, Angele is still working for Saddle Creek Logistics Services. Since starting in an entry-level position in Information Services, she has taken on six different roles with increasing responsibility in several departments throughout the company. During her career journey, Angele had the opportunity to work on project management, support and operational roles. She is continually learning and growing as a professional.

“My family and I are still in Lakeland because I love working at Saddle Creek,” Angele says.

Today, she serves as a senior manager focused on business analysis to support the company’s operations. Her typical day includes meeting with different managers, gathering and analyzing data, and summarizing recommendations to improve performance. She completes one to two analyses each week, depending on the size and complexity of the account.

“Because I have had several roles at Saddle Creek and experienced the business from different perspectives, I am now able to excel in my current job. I understand how to pull and interpret data, but, at the same time, I can look at it as an operator,” Angele says.

When asked why she likes to work at Saddle Creek, Angele explains, “The people and the culture are amazing. Everyone shares the same values. They treat me with respect and make me feel important. It has been fascinating to watch this company grow and evolve while maintaining this supportive culture. You just don’t see that everywhere.”
